TUESDAY, July 23, 2002 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, MRHA is required to submit a draft plan to HUD seventy - five (75) days prior to the end of <br />its fiscal year 2002, which is July 18, 2002; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, after the public hearing, the final plan must be submitted to HUD with amendments or <br />changes; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this plan only applies to Public Housing Agencies who receive funds for Section 8 tenant - <br />based assistance, Public Housing operating subsidy or capital improvement funds; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this plan will be amended each year and submitted to ~ for review. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Commissioners of the City of Martinsville <br />Redevelopment and Housing Authority, in regular session assembled July 23, 2002, hereby approves the <br />Public Housing Agency Plan. <br /> <br />In accordance with the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, and as amended), Chapter 21- Freedom of Information <br />Act, Section 2.1-344(A), Executive or Closed Meetings, and upon motion, duly seconded, and by unanimous <br />recorded vote, the Martinsville Redevelopment and Housing Authority convened in Closed Session for the <br />purpose of discussing the following matters: <br /> <br /> A. Disposition of publicly held real property as authorized by Subsection 3. <br /> <br />At the conclusion of this Closed Session, each member of the Martinsville Redevelopment and Housing <br />Authority certified that (1) only public business matters exempt from open meeting requirements were <br />discussed in said Closed Session; and (2) only those business matters identified in the motion convening the <br />Closed Session were heard, discussed, or considered during said Session. <br /> <br />Following their return to open meeting, the Housing Authority, moved upon motion duly seconded, with all <br />members voting: Vote 5-0; Yeas (5)- Teague, Roop, Cobbe, Dallas, and Fen-ill; Nays (0)- None, to sell 5.5 <br />acres at 925 Rives Road, known as the old W. M. Bassett Furniture Plant parking lot, to Michael L. Craig of <br />Forest Street for $30,000 and to sell 4,481 square feet to Jerry Shaffer, 707 Rives Road, for $100. <br /> <br />There being no further business fo come before the Housing Authority, upon motion duly seconded, by <br />unanimous vote, Chairman Teague declared the meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />
