52 <br /> <br />Enclosure <br /> <br />July 9, 2002 <br /> <br /> A regular, semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br />Virginia, was held on July 9, 2002, in Council Chamber of the Municipal Building, <br />beginning at 7:30 P. M., with Mayor Gene Teague presiding. Council Members present <br />included: M. Gene Teague, Mayor; Terry L. Roop, Vice Mayor; and Council Members <br />Joseph R. Cobbe, Bruce H. T. Dallas, and J. Ronald Ferrill. <br /> <br /> Following the invocation by Council Member Ferrill and the Pledge of Allegiance, <br />Mayor Teague welcomed everyone to the meeting. <br /> <br /> Council Member Ferrill moved to approve the minutes of the June 6, 2002, June <br />19, 2002, June 20, 2002, June 25, 2002, and July 1, 2002, meetings as presented, and <br />of the June 11, 2002, meeting as amended; the motion was duly seconded and carried <br />by the following vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Cobbe, Dallas, <br />Ferrill, Roop, Teague; Nays (0)- None. <br /> <br /> Council considered adoption, on second reading, of Ordinance 2002-9 amending <br />Section 21-4 of the City Code relating to procedure relative to delinquent real estate <br />taxes. Pat Conrad, City Treasurer, reviewed the delinquent tax process, including use <br />of a Treasurer's lien and sale of property. Council Member Ferrill moved to adopt the <br />following Ordinance, on second reading; the motion was duly seconded and carried by <br />the following r011 call vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Cobbe, <br />Dallas, Ferrill, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None: <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br /> Virginia, in regular session held on June 25, 2002, that Section 21- <br /> 4 of the Martinsville City Code be, and it hereby is, amended to <br /> read as follows: <br /> "Sec. 21-4. Procedure relative to delinquent real estate <br /> taxes. <br /> <br /> <br />
