City <br />Manager Reynolds recognized Bobby Setliff, Electric; Rob Fincher, Police; and Randy <br />Gregory, Public Works. Mr. Gregory was named the winner. <br /> <br /> Council considered a presentation by representatives of First Baptist Church of <br />Martinsville of teddy bears to the Fire and Police Departments. Frances Milstead, of the <br />First Baptist Church of Martinsville, stated that 312 stuffed animals were collected and <br />will be distributed to the Citizens Against Family Violence, State Police, City Police, City <br />Fire, and Henry County Sheriff's Departments. <br /> <br /> Council considered a presentation by Longwood Small Business Development <br /> <br />Center regarding their annual report. <br />presentation. <br /> <br />Tim Berry, Branch Manager, made the <br /> <br /> Council considered adoption of a Resolution authorizing the City Manager to <br />execute necessary documents to extend the electric service contract with American <br />Electric Power. John Dyches, Water Resources Manager, stated that effective July 1, <br />2002, Public Authority (PA) rates will disappear and affect the electricity provided to the <br />pumping stations at Beaver Creek, Leatherwood Creek, and Little Beaver Creek. This <br />Resolution will not preserve the current rates but will provide some protection against <br />run-away fuel adjustments through June 30, 2007.
