Larry Moyer <br /> <br />5 years Laura Hopkins <br /> <br />TUESDAY, September 25, 2001 <br /> <br />Deputy Sheriff <br />Sheriff's Office <br /> <br />Administrative Officer <br />Sheriff s Office <br /> <br />Council honored three employees that were nominated for the Third Quarter, City Service Excellence Award. <br />Nominated by co-workers included Linda Kanode, Police Department; Rob Fincher, Police Department; and <br />Eddie Frazier, Public Works. Each nominee was presented with a token of appreciation and plaque. After <br />words of praise by Mr. W.W. Bartlett, Acting Assistant City Manager, Rob Fincher was named the recipient <br />of the Award for the quarter. <br /> <br />Mayor Crabtree opened the Town Meeting. Ms. Brenda Prillaman, Customer Service Coordinator, addressed <br />Council and gave a summary of customer concerns in the Museum area. In the period of September 2000 - <br />September 2001, 337 customer complaints were received by the City. Of the complaints, 282 have been <br />resolved. Primary issues included unsightly properties, dilapidated houses, and inoperative motor vehicles. <br />To date, all concerns in the Museum area have been resolved or measures are underway to remedy the <br />situation. <br /> <br />Elaine Hedrick of 108 Park Street discussed problems on Park Street involving rental property at 111 and 113 <br />Park Street. Ms. Hedrick stated that she has observed serious problems within the neighborhood involving <br />drugs and alcohol violations. She stated the given properties are owned by Lynn Swinney. She further stated <br />that she believes the terms ofthe rental assistance agreement are being violated by the tenants and property <br />owner. Council Member Teague asked if such rental assistance properties may be removed from the program. <br />Mr. Wayne D.P. Knox, Planning, Zoning, and Housing Manager, replied that rental assistance properties can <br />be deleted from the program if a law is broken or if lease terms are violated. Mr. Knox agreed to discuss the <br />situation further with Ms. Hedrick. Mike Rogers, City Police Chief, was present and explained that City <br /> <br /> <br />
