THURSDAY, October 4, 2001 159 <br /> <br />See that information from the inventory is used as a part of City efforts in economic <br />development. Pending <br /> <br />Add a condensed version of the inventory to the City web site. <br />Awaiting hiring of the vacant, City's Public Information Officer, deadline set for 6/30/02. <br /> <br />Council will seek an update to the information on an every three-year cycle. <br /> <br />Objective: <br /> <br />Increase the effectiveness of City response to citizen concerns. <br /> <br />Action Plans: <br /> <br />Council will agree on a protocol for reporting citizen concerns to City administration. <br /> <br /> 6/30/02 <br />Members of Council will seek opportunities to be advocates for how effective the City is in <br />providing core services with the recent reduction of resources. Ongoing <br /> <br />City Manager will submit to Council by December 2001 recommendation for the realignment <br />of City Departments and staff assignments. 12/31/01, on-track <br /> <br />Develop a plan for City use of Public Access Channel. <br />Council decided to conduct business meetings with the same format of business items as <br />is, then feedback will be utilized to make necessary adjustments. The first broadcast is <br />scheduled for October 23, 2001. The City will possess capabilities to place public service <br />messages on the channel, on a scrolling marquee. <br /> <br />Objective: <br /> <br />Increase the ability of the City to attract and retain high-quality staff. <br /> <br />Action Plans: <br /> <br />Implement the new pay program recently approved by Council. <br /> <br />Develop a program that encourages improved performance and creates opportunities for <br />employees to participate in career enhancement activities. <br />Council set a work session for November 1, 2001 on both of these action plans. <br /> <br />Goal: Aggressively seek regional opportunities for cooperation. <br /> <br />Objective: <br /> <br /> Explore regional cooperation with neighboring counties and cities. <br /> <br /> <br />
