171 <br /> <br />OctOber 9, 2001 <br /> <br /> Council considered the need to meet in Closed Session. In accordance with <br />Section 2.1-344 (A) of the Code of Virginia (1950, and as amended) and upon motion <br />by Council Member Dallas, duly seconded, and by unanimous recorded vote, Council <br />convened in Closed Session, for the purpose of discussing the following matter: <br /> <br /> A. Appointment to the Dan River ASAP Board, as authorized by <br /> Subsection 1. <br /> B. Personnel matters under the jurisdiction of City Council, as <br /> authorized by Subsection 1. <br /> <br /> At the conclusion of this Closed Session, each member of Council certified that <br />(1) only public business matters exempt from open meeting~requirements were <br />discussed in said Closed Session; and (2) only those business matters identified in the <br />motion convening the Closed Session were heard, discussed, or considered during said <br />Session. Upon return to Open Session, Council took the following action: <br /> <br /> A. Council Member Roop moved to appoint Donna Martin O'Dell, of <br /> 1203 Corn Tassel Trail, to an unexpired three-year term on the Dan <br /> River ASAP Board, ending April 12, 2003; the motion was duly <br /> seconded and carried by the following vote, with all members <br /> voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Crabtree, Dallas, Ferrill, Roop, <br /> Teague; Nays (0) - None. <br /> B. No action. <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before Council during their regular <br /> meeting, upon motion by Council Member Dallas, duly seconded, by unanimous vote, <br /> Mayor Crabtree declared the meeting adjourned at 12:08 A.
