June 12,2001 <br /> <br />Council considered the need to meet in Closed Session. In accordance with <br /> <br />Section 2.1-344 (A) of the Code of Virginia (1950, and as amended) and upon motion <br /> <br />by Council Member Roop, duly seconded, and by unanimous recorded vote, Council <br /> <br />convened in Closed Session, for the purpose of discussing the following matters: <br /> <br />Bo <br /> <br />Appointments/Reappointments to various Boards/Commissions as <br />authorized by Subsection 1. <br />1. Blue Ridge Regional Library Board <br />2. Drug Task Force of Martinsville-Henry County <br />3. Piedmont Regional Community Services Board <br />4. Patrick Henry Development Council Board <br />Personnel matters under the jurisdiction of the City Council, as <br />authorized by Subsection 1. <br />Personnel matters under the jurisdiction of the City Manager, as <br />authorized by Subsection 1. <br /> <br />At the conclusion of this Closed Session, each member of Council certified that <br /> <br />(1) only public business matters exempt from open meeting requirements were <br /> <br />discussed in said Closed Session; and (2) only those business matters identified in the <br /> <br />motion convening the Closed Session were heard, discussed, or considered during said <br /> <br />Session. Upon return to Open Session, Council took the following action: <br /> <br />A. 2, <br /> <br />Council Member Dallas moved to appoint Earl Coy Preston, <br />Jr., of 513 Fayette Street, to a four-year term on the Drug <br />Task Force Board of Martinsville-Henry County, expiring <br />June 30, 2005. The motion was duly seconded and carded <br />by the following vote: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Crabtree, <br />Dallas, Ferrill, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None. <br /> <br />There being no further business to come before Council during their regular <br /> <br />meeting, upon motion by Council Member Ferrill, duly seconded, by unanimous vote, <br /> <br />Mayor Crabtree declared the meeting adjourned at 11:32 P.
