Enclosure #1-a <br />April 24, 2001 <br /> <br /> A regular, semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br />Virginia, was held on April 24, 2001, in Council Chamber of the Municipal Building, <br />beginning at 7:30 P. M., with Mayor Mark Crabtree presiding. Council Members present <br />included: Mark A. Crabtree, Mayor; M. Gene Teague, Vice Mayor; and Council <br />Members Bruce H. T. Dallas and Terry L. Roop. Council Member J. Ronald Ferrill was <br />away from the City. <br /> <br /> Following the invocation by Vice Mayor Teague, Mayor Crabtree welcomed <br />everyone to the meeting. <br /> <br /> Council considered approval of the Minutes. Council Member Dallas moved to <br />approve the Minutes of March 27, 2001, April 10, 2001, and April 12, 2001, as <br />presented; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all <br />members present voting: Vote 4 - 0; Yeas (4) - Crabtree, Dallas, Roop, Teague; Nays <br />(0) - None. <br /> <br /> Council considered a presentJtion by the Old Dominion Search & Rescue Team. <br />Captain Richard Cox presented the following in recognition of support at a recent <br />fundraiser: Fire/EMS Captain Tim Anderson, certificate of appreciation and donation to <br />the thermal imaging camera fundraiser; Police Chief Mike Rogers, certificate of <br />appreciation and donation to the police benevolent fund; and City Manager Earl B. <br />Reynolds, Jr., certificate of appreciation. <br /> <br /> Council considered business from the floor. Hardin Edwards, of 810 Forest Lake <br />Drive, voiced concern regarding an apartment complex in his neighborhood not <br />adhering to code and presented a petition from property owners.
