February 13, 2001 Council considered an announcement by Sprint regarding a City and County location for payment of telephone bills. Dorothy Cochran, Sprint Public Affairs Manager, stated, "Sprint's local service customers in Martinsville who prefer to make payments in person can now take them to two locations: Figsboro Market, 2035 Figsboro Road, will accept payments from 5:00 A. M. to 10:00 P. M., daily, and Shumate and Jessie Furniture, 30 Franklin Street, will accept payments from 9:00 A. M. to 5:30 P. M., Monday through Saturday. These payment agents are able to accept payments only." Council considered the Consent Agenda. Vice Mayor Teague moved to approve the following consent items; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Crabtree, Dallas, Ferrill, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None: Set a Public Hearing for February 27 on a request by ,Commonwealth Boulevard Associates, L. L. C., to abandon Townes Street located west of Franklin Street and north of Commonwealth Boulevard. Accept and appropriate the following in the General Fund for FY 2000-2001 Budget: 1. $500 donation from Martinsville DuPont Credit Union into Revenue 01100908480410 - Donations to Fire Department, Expenditure 01321102-506014 - Miscellaneous/Fire Depadment. 2. $2,910.86 from Commonwealth of Virginia into Revenue 01101917442401 - Confiscated Assets/Police Department for Expenditure 01311085- 506078 - Confiscated Assets/Police Department. 3. $821.66 from Commonwealth of Virginia into Revenue 01101917-442402 - Confiscated Assets/Commonwealth Attorney for Expenditure 01221082-506105 - Confiscated Assets/Commonwealth Attorney. 4. $2,575 from Commonwealth of Virginia into Revenue 01101916434102 - Temporary Salaries/Commonwealth Attorney for Expenditure 01221082-501300 - part-time/Commonwealth Attorney.
