Michael Amyx, Executive Director~4~/ <br /> <br />SUBJECT: VML 2000 Policy Committee Nominations <br /> <br />The Virginia Municipal League is now accepting nominations for its policy <br />committees. A description of the policy committee process is attached, along <br />with a nomination form for 2001 and the nomination form you submitted for <br />2000. Please complete the 2001 form and return it to VML by April 25. <br /> <br />Your local government determines which officials will represent you on the <br />policy committees. Please keep in mind the following guidelines when <br />making your nominations: <br /> <br />· Only full-member local governments may make nominations. <br /> <br />A local government may nominate up to two people to each policy <br />committee; at least one nominee must be a governing body member. <br /> <br />· Only elected and appointed officials are eligible to serve. <br /> <br />While we encourage you to submit nominations for every committee, w__e <br />ask that you do not nominate the same person to serve on more than <br />one committee. <br /> <br /> P.O. (Many local officials prefer to receive their policy committee <br />material at a location other than the locality' s address). <br /> <br />· The nomination form must be signed. <br /> <br />· Nomination forms must be returned by April 25. <br /> <br />Policy committees will meet Thursday, July 19 at the Richmond Marriott. <br />The steering committees will meet prior to the policy-committees to conduct a <br />preliminary review of the policy statement and develop an agenda for the July <br />19 meeting, taking into account issues that VML's Legislative Committee has <br /> <br />LOCAL GOVERNMENTS WORKING TOGETHER SINCE 1905 <br /> <br /> <br />
