November 14, 2000 <br /> <br /> Council considered the need to meet in Closed Session. In accordance with <br />Section 2.1-344 (A) of the Code of Virginia (1950, and as amended) and upon motion <br />by'Council Member Dallas, duly seconded, and by unanimous recorded vote, Council <br />convened in Closed Session, for the purpose of discussing the following matters: <br /> <br /> A. Appointments to various Boards/Commissions, as authorized by <br /> Subsection 1. <br /> 1. Patrick Henry Community College Board <br /> 2. Clean Community Commission <br /> B. Consultation with legal counsel on a specific legal matter, as <br /> authorized by Subsection 7. <br /> C. Consultation with legal counsel on a specific legal matter, as <br /> authorized by Subsection 7. <br /> <br /> At the conclusion of this Closed Session, each member of Council certified that <br />(1) only public business matters exempt from open meeting requirements were <br />discussed in said Closed Session; and (2) only those business matters identified in the <br />motion convening the Closed Session were heard, discussed, or considered during said <br />Session. Upon return to Open Session, Council took no action. <br /> <br /> Council requested that Staff prepare a Resolution to recognize the Haskell <br />Family and the Martinsville Bulletin for their donation of $200,000 to give local agencies. <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before Council during their regular <br />meeting, upon motion by Vice Mayor Teague, duly seconded, by unanimous vote, <br />Council Member Dallas declared the meeting adjourned at 11:19 P.
