TUESDAY, January 9, 2001 8 <br />In accordance with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, and as amended) and upon <br />motion, duly seconded, and by unanimous recorded vote, Council convened in Closed Session for the <br />purpose of discussing the following matter: <br /> <br />A. Consultation with legal counsel, as authorized by Subsection 7. <br /> <br />City Council then adjourned and convened as the Martinsville Redevelopment and Housing Authority. <br />In accordance with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, and as amended) and upon <br />motion, duly seconded, and by unanimous recorded vote, Council convened in Closed Session for the <br />purpose of discussing the following matter: <br /> <br /> A. Possible acquisition of real property for public purpose, as authorized by Subsection 3. <br /> <br />At the conclusion of this Closed Session, each member of Council certified that (1) only public business <br />matters exempt from open meeting requirements were discussed in said closed session; and (2) only those <br />business matters identified in the motion convening the Closed Session were heard, discussed, or considered <br />during said Session. <br /> <br />Following their return to open meeting, Council took the following action: <br /> <br /> A. No action taken. <br /> <br />City Council then adjoumed and convened as the Martinsville Redevelopmerit and Housing Authority. Each <br />member of the Martinsville Redevelopment and Housing Authority certified that (1) only public business <br />matters exempt from open meeting requirements were discussed in said closed session; and (2) only those <br />business matters identified in the motion convening the Closed Session were heard, discussed, or considered <br />during said Session. <br /> <br />Following their return to open meeting, the Martinsville Redevelopment and Housing Authority took the <br />following action: <br /> <br /> A. Rescinded a transaction of the Authority with PB&J, L.L.C. for a piece of property on <br /> Brookdale Street with the Authority to again take title to the given property and moved to <br /> authorize a $121,000 expenditure to purchase the above property from revenue account <br /> 16103938-462101 and for expenditure account 16577367-508250. <br /> <br /> <br />
