Phillips <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Branch Banking & Trust (BB&T) is a major financial institution in the <br />Martinsville-Henry County area, offering financial services, employment, investment <br />capital and other civic contributions to the improvement of living conditions in our area; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, BB&T has donated the third floor of their building at Church and Ellsworth <br />for one year, rent free, to the City of Martinsville Redevelopment and Housing Authority <br />for use as a technology incubator; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, BB&T has also donated property at 18 Cleveland Avenue known as the old <br />Family YMCA to the City of Martinsville Redevelopment and Housing Authority for use <br />by the Martinsville Middle School; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, BB&T has made this property available to the Authority for the Authority's <br />use exclusively for public purposes and for the intended purposes of the Authority as <br />established by the City of Martinsville; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, BB&T has made available, by lease to the City, two parking lots adjacent <br />to the old YMCA property, one fronting East Church Street and one fronting Cleveland <br />Avenue, for use by the Martinsville Middle School; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the gifted property will be providing opportunities for key economic <br />development projects that will result in economic stability, expansion of the tax base and <br />job growth; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Martinsville that it does hereby thank and recognize <br />Branch Banking and Trust for its contribution in supporting economic growth in the City <br />of Martinsville and Henry County. <br /> <br />55 West Church Street P.O.
