VI.

VII.

from the citizens regarding this matter, even though it was not a
requirement. It is recommended that Council approve the
Ordinance on first reading.

Consider adoption, on second reading, of Ordinance No. 2000-5
amending Section VII--General Sign Regulations, Paragraph C--
Permitted Signs and Paragraph N--Permitted Signs in Districts;
and deleting certain paragraphs of Sections X-XIII that: are dupli-
cated because of these revisions to the City's Zoning Ordinance.
(See Enclosure #4)

COMMENTS: Council will note that this Ordinance looks a little
different from the previous one, but everything that was being
revised is the same. There was a need to note the deletions
necessary because of duplication of wording. We recommend that
Council adopt this Ordinance on second reading.

Consider adoption of a Resolution related to the structure of the
Martinsville Community Criminal Justice Board as to its member-
ship. (See Enclosure #5)

COMMENTS: On April 8, 1997, City Council adopted a Resolution
establishing the structure of the Martinsville Community Criminal
Justice Board as prescribed in Section 53.1-183 of the Code of
Virginia. That section of the Code has been amended and there is
a need to add a couple of members to the Board. We recommend
that Council adopt the Resolution as prepared, thereby appointing
two new members: Randy Williamson as Director of Patrick Henry
Day Reporting Center and Karl Hellriegel as Chief Probation and
Parole Officer of District 22.

CONSENT AGENDA:

Set a Public Hearing for November 28, 2000, on the proposed
Enterprise Zone application to be submitted jointly by the City
of Martinsville and Henry County to the Virginia Department of
Housing and Community Development. (See Enclosure #6)

B. Accept and appropriate State Forfeited Asset funds in the
General Fund for FY2000-2001, as follows:

1. $557.69 into Revenue 0110 19 17-442401 for Expenditure
01311085-506078 for the Police Department.

2. $98.42 into Revenue 01101917-442402 for Expenditure
01221082-506105 for the Commonwealth Attorney.
