AGENDA <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />CITY OF MARTINSVILLE, VIRGINIA <br /> <br />City Council Chamber - Municipal Building <br />7:30 P.M. -Tuesday, November 14, 2000 <br /> <br /> II. <br /> <br />III. <br /> <br />IV. <br /> <br />Invocation - Vice-Mayor M. Gene Teague <br /> <br />Consider approval of the minutes of City Council's meetings of <br />October 10, 30, November 2 and 7, 2000. <br />(See Enclosure #l-a, # l-b, # 1-c and # l-d) <br /> <br />Business from the floor. <br /> <br />Conduct a Public Hearing to consider the sale of City-owned real <br />property consisting of two parcels (26.538 acres and 0.938 acres) <br />in the Martinsville Industrial Park in Henry County to Frith Con- <br />struction Co., Inc. and consider authorizing the City Manager to <br />execute a deed conveying said property as noted. <br />(See Enclosure #2) <br /> <br />COMMENTS: State law requires that a Public Hearing be held to <br />receive public comment before the sale of City-owned land. If there <br />are no objections, we recommend that Council authorize the City <br />Manager to execute the Deed to sell this property to Frith Con- <br />struction for $81,114. <br /> <br />Consider a report on the Martinsville Emergency Assistance Fund <br />by Joyce Martin, Director of the Henry County-Martinsville Social <br />Services Department. <br /> <br />COMMENTS: During Council's discussions regarding increases to <br />the City's water and sewer usage rates, it was suggested that Joyce <br />Martin attend this meeting and provide this report. <br /> <br />Conduct a Public Hearing concerning the City's proposal to amend <br />Appendix A--Schedule of Water and Sewer Rates of the City's <br />Terms and Conditions for Water and Sewer Services and consider <br />approval, on first reading, of Ordinance No. 2000-8 amending the <br />City's Terms and Conditions for Water and Sewer Service. <br />(See Enclosure #3) <br /> <br />COI~II~IIBNTS: At Councirs Work Session on November 2, it was <br />agreed that a Public Hearing would be held to receive comments <br /> <br /> <br />
