Roop <br /> <br />Business from the floor. <br /> <br />Conduct a Public Hearing on a Local Law Enforcement Block Grant <br />of $26,437 for the Police Department. <br /> <br />COMMENTS: This is a requirement of the Grant. Chief of Police <br />Mike Rogers will be available to answer any questions regarding <br />this Grant. <br /> <br />Consider adoption, on second reading, of Ordinance No. 2000-5 <br />amending Section VII--General Sign Regulations, Paragraph C-- ' <br />Permitted Signs and Paragraph N--Permitted Signs in Districts of <br />the City's Zoning Ordinance related to real estate signs. <br />(See Enclosure #1) <br /> <br />COMMENTS: Following City Council's Public Hearing on this <br />Ordinance on August 22, 2000, it was referred back to the Plan- <br />ning Commission for further consideration and clarification. The <br />Planning Commission has further discussed this Ordinance and <br />returned it to Council as originally submitted. <br /> <br />Consider adoption, on second reading, of Ordinance No. 2000-7 <br />amending Chapter 21--Taxation, Article III--Tax on Purchasers of <br />Utility Service of the City Code. (See Enclosure #2) <br /> <br />COMMENTS: We recommend that Council adopt this Ordinance <br />on second reading. <br /> <br />Consider a report by the Martinsville-Henry County Chamber of <br />Commerce regarding its Board's position on economic development <br />for. the area. <br /> <br />COMMENTS: Ms. Kim Adkins, Executive Director of the Chamber, <br />requested this opportunity to address City Council regarding her <br />Board's position on economic development. <br /> <br />Consider a request by Judge Junius Warren that the City assume <br />certain responsibilities and expenses related to-the installation and <br />operation of a Video Teleconferencing system for the Martinsville <br />Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court Room. (See Enclosure #3) <br /> <br /> <br />
