Roop <br /> <br />Consider approval of the minutes of City Council's meeting of May <br />9, 2000. <br /> <br />COMMENTS: Johnathan said he would have the minutes <br />delivered to you by Saturday. <br /> <br />Business from the floor. <br /> <br />Consider a report on the Citizen Survey 2000. (See Enclosure # 1) <br /> <br />COMMENTS: Brenda Prillaman, the City's Customer Service <br />Representative, will attend your meeting to explain and answer any <br />questions Council may have regarding this report. <br /> <br />Consider setting a Public Hearing to receive applications from <br />those citizens desiring to serve on the Martinsville School Board. <br /> <br />COMMENTS: As you are aware, State Code requires that a Public <br />Hearing be conducted by Council to receive names of citizens <br />interested in serving on the School Board. There are two terms <br />expiring on June 30, 2000--William A. Shackleford, Sr. and James <br />H. Johnson, Jr. Both of these gentlemen have served three full <br />terms, which is the limit under Council's policy effective January <br />1,1991. We recommend that Council set a Public Hearing for <br />June 13, 2000. At that time Council will interview those inter- <br />ested, but cannot make an actual appointment until at least seven <br />days after the Public Hearing. <br /> <br />Consider setting a Public Hearing on the City's Proposed Budget <br />for Fiscal Year 2000-2001. <br /> <br />COMMENTS: We recommend that Council authorize the setting of <br />a Public Hearing for June 13, 2000. <br /> <br />Consider adoption of a Resolution authorizing the City Manager to <br />execute documents related to the submission of a grant application <br />to the Economic Development Administration for renovation of the <br />former Tultex facility at 22 East Church Street, thereby committing <br />$250,000 of proceeds from the sale of the Tultex facility to the. <br />Martinsville Industrial Development Authority as the required local <br />match for the grant. (See Enclosure #2) <br /> <br /> <br />
