Dallas <br /> <br />Consider approval of the minutes of City Council's meeting of <br />February 22, 2000. (See Enclosure #1) <br /> <br />Business from the floor. <br /> <br />Report by Mayor Mark Crabtree on his recent visit with Piedmont <br />Triad .officials. <br /> <br />Update report on the City's economic development marketing <br />efforts. <br /> <br />Report by Renee Wyatt, Public Affairs Officer, on the recent <br />Business 2000 Show. <br /> <br />Report by Earl Reynolds, City Manager, on efforts to address the <br />area's economic crisis. <br /> <br />Consider an update report and establish a budget of $271,400 for <br />the Southside Community Improvement Project and appropriate <br />same to various line items in the CDBG Fund for FY1999-2000. <br />(See Enclosure #2) <br /> <br />Conduct a Public Hearing on the use of $32,826 in block grant <br />funds from the U.S. Department of Justice to be used by the Police <br />Department. <br /> <br />COMMENTS: This block grant will be used to fund computerized <br />polygraph/tuition, forensic evidence drying cabinet, recruitment <br />display board, TV/VCR, recruitment brochure publication, fire- <br />arms for ERT (2 sniper rifles, 3 shotguns), specialized training/ <br />overtime expenses, micro-cassette recorders, and police vehicle <br />decals. The Grant total is $36,473 with a 10% match of $3,647, <br />which is in the Police Department's FY99-00 budget. There is no <br />action required by Council--just receive citizen input as a require- <br />ment of the Grant. <br /> <br /> <br />
