Consider approval of the minutes of City Council's meetings of April 19, <br />April 24, and May 1 <br /> <br />2. Conduct a public hearing and consider amending city ordinance 2002-2 to <br />increase the cap of the courthouse security fee from $5 to 10 as the <br />maximum amount to be assessed as part of the criminal or traffic court <br />costs against a convicted defendant. <br /> <br />3. Consider authorizing the Mayor to sign Regional Consortium Agreement with <br />Martinsville, Henry County, Patrick County, and Danville. <br /> <br />4. Presentation by Max Kendall relating to 1-73 issue. <br /> <br />5. Conduct a public hearing pursuant to Code of Virginia Section 58.1-3321 <br />concerning an effective tax rate increase resulting from real property <br />reassessmen t. <br /> <br />6. Conduct a public hearing and consider adoption, on first reading, of an <br />Ordinance establishing the City's Budget and Tax Rates for Fiscal Year 2008. <br /> <br />7. Conduct a public hearing for the purpose of receiving citizens interested in <br />appointment to one three-year term on the Martinsville School Board, ending <br />6/30/10. <br /> <br />8. Business from the Floor <br /> <br />This section of the Council meeting provides citizens the opportunity <br />to discuss matters, which are not listed on the printed agenda. In that <br />the Council meetings are broadcast on Martinsville Government <br />Television, the City Council is responsible for the content of the <br />programming. Thus, any person wishing to bring a matter to Council's <br />attention under this Section of the agenda should: (1) come to the <br />podium and state their name and address; (2) state the matter that they <br />wish to discuss and what action they would like for Council to take; (3) <br />limit their remarks to five minutes; and (4) refrain from making any <br />personal references or accusations of a factually false and! or malicious <br />nature. Persons who violate these guidelines will be ruled out of order <br />
