<br />290 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />APRIL 8, 1958 <br /> <br />The regular semi-month1y meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br /> <br />Virginia, with Mayor John VI. Shultz presiding, was held in the Council Chamber, <br /> <br />City Hall, Tuesday, April S, 1958, at 7:30 P.M., all members being present, as <br /> <br />follows: Mayor and Councilman John W. Shultz; Vice-Ma::ror and Councilman E. E. <br /> <br />Stone; and Councilmen C. C. Donavant, B. H. Hill, and J. R. Walker. <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved as read the minutes of its regular <br /> <br />meeting held March 25, 1958 and of its special rreeting held April 1, 1958. <br /> <br />With Councilman B. H. Hill being recorded as voting against the motion providing <br /> <br />for the following, Council placed on first reading the follovring proposed <br /> <br />ordinance and resolution establishing a sewer service charge tariff and a <br /> <br />statement of policy governing the intended assigTh~ent and allocation of revenue <br /> <br />from the row sewer service charges, Council instructing that the resolution be <br /> <br />incorporated in the ordinance as well as that a provision be made in the proposed <br /> <br />ordinance for a comparable sewer service charge on those customers discharging <br /> <br />water from private sources into the City's sewers: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of I'iIartimville, Virginia, in <br />regular meeting assembled, tl:at the monthly charges for the use of the <br />sewers or seweraGe system of the City of Martinsville begin.'1ing June 1, <br />1958, and each month thereafter while this ordinance is in force, shall <br />be payable as follows: <br /> <br />Section 1. General Rates.
