Shultz presiding and with an members present-- <br /> <br />viz., H9.yor and Councilman John w. Shultz; Vice-Hayor and Councilman E. E. Stone; <br /> <br />and Councilmen Thomas J. Burch, Clarence C. Donavant, and J. Frank Wilson--v13.s <br /> <br />held in the Council Chamber, City H;111, Tuesday, Hay 1 D, n60, at 7:15 P.M. <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council aDproved as read the minutes of its regular meeting <br />held April 26, 1960. <br /> <br />Council continued until some future meeting the request presented during the April <br /> <br /> <br />26th meeting that the Citizens' Parking Committee be re-activated. <br /> <br />Council received and took under advisement a request (by letter dnteo Hay 9, 1060) <br /> <br />from Virginia Mirror Company asking for relief commens1Jrate w:Jth the application of <br /> <br /> <br />any policy change that may be ordered by Council in connection 1:l:L th its consideration <br /> <br /> <br />of pending requests for relief of sewer service charge payments. <br /> <br />City M3.nager Hirst reported that a preliminary to an actual application for Federal <br /> <br />aid for se'\Jerage system construction has been filec with the State Hater Control <br /> <br />Board. City l1a.nae:er Hirst further renorted that if Federal aid funds are released <br /> <br /> <br />M3.rtinsville might be entitled to 30% of $210,000.00, or ~~63,OOO.OO, should Council <br /> <br /> <br />wish to apply for and accent such aid. <br /> <br />Ci ty l1a.nager Hirst relayed to Council a reques t from the J. Ben Davis family that <br /> <br /> <br />their property on Route 220 South, outside the City's south corporate Emits, be <br /> <br /> <br />connected to the City's sewerage system, with the understanding that the ovmers <br /> <br /> <br />of the nroperty vrUl pay the required connection fee and se"\.ler service charges and <br /> <br />will donate right-of-vlUY or easement across the property necessary to the Ci tv's <br /> <br />s8Herage system construction program in that area.
