<br />306 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />SEPTE~BER 1, 1964 <br /> <br />Pli~suant to Section 5 of Chapter 2 of the Charter of the City of Martinsville, <br /> <br />Virginia, an organizational meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville <br /> <br />was held Tuesday, September 1, 1964, in the Council Chamber, City Hall, <br /> <br />beginning at 9:00 A.M., with all members being present, with the exception of <br /> <br />Councilman Thomas J. Burch, viz., Harry L. Boaz; Fred T. Renick, M. D.; E. E. <br /> <br />Stone; and J. Frank Wilson. <br /> <br />Miss Christine Koger, Deputy Clerk of Martinsville City Circuit Court, <br /> <br />administered and witnessed the oaths of office taken by Dr. Fred T. Renick <br /> <br />and Messrs. Harry L. Boaz and E. E. Stone, who (on June 9, 1964) were duly <br /> <br />elected (and re-elected) to membership on the Council--for four-year terms <br /> <br />beginning September 1, 1964--as certified to the Council under date of June <br /> <br />11, 1964. <br /> <br />Upon nomination--there being but one--and by acclamation the Council then <br /> <br />re-elected Councilman J. Frank Wilson as Mayor and, also by one nomination and <br /> <br />acclamation Council re-elected Councilman Fred T. Renick as Vice-Mayor, both <br /> <br />offices bei:r:g for two-year terms beginning September 1, 1964. <br /> <br />Mayor Wilson and Vice-Mayor Renick then subscribed to their respective oaths <br /> <br />of office, which were administered by ML?s Koger, Deputy Clerk of the City <br /> <br />Circuit Court. <br /> <br />Council then unanimously appointed Mr. Irvin W. Cubine as City Attorney and <br /> <br />W. H. Yeaman as Clerk of the Council. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />),~. <br />W. H.
