<br />246 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />APRIL 14. 1964 <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsvil18, <br /> <br />Virginia, with Mayor J. Frank Wilson presiding, was held in the Council <br /> <br />Chamber, City Hall, Tuesday, April 14, 1964, begin~ing at 7:30 P.M., all <br /> <br />members of Council being present, with the exception of Councilman Harry L. <br /> <br />Boaz, viz., Mayor J. Frank Wilson; Vice-Mayor Fred T. Renick, M.D.; Thwlas <br /> <br />J. Burch; and E. E. Stone. <br /> <br />After th,? invocation, Council approved as recorded the minutes of its <br /> <br />regular meeting held March 24, 1964, and of its special meeting held <br /> <br />April 2, 1964. <br /> <br />Pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public hearing <br /> <br />on a pet:'~tion submitted by Sale Knitting C:>mpany at Council's meeting held <br /> <br />March 10, 1964, subject to the Planning Comrnission's report and recommenda- <br /> <br />tion of Mexch 24, 1964, whereby the petitioner requested the rezoning to <br /> <br />"M-2 Industrial" of certain of its property locat,ed in the Roy Street area. <br /> <br />There being no objections registered by anyone towards the proposed rezoning, <br /> <br />Council unanimously granted the petitioner J s requei3t, in keeping wi th the <br /> <br />Planning Commission's recornrnend.s,tions, and adopted the following ordinance <br /> <br />amending the City's Zoning Code and Map: <br /> <br />BE Ie:' ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />in regular meeting 'lssembled this 14th day of April, 1964, that the <br />City's Zoning Code and Zoning Map be and is hereby amendGd to classify <br />and reflect a "M-2 Industrial" zoning classification for the following <br />property: <br />That certain property owned by Sale Knitting Company, located <br />in the Roy Street area adjacent to owner's existing plant site, <br />inclading a portio~ of Roy Street vacated and abandoned by <br />Council;s diJ~ective of Mar:;h 10, 1964, which certain property <br />is bounded on the west side by existing plant property of Sale <br />Kni tting Company; on the nCJrth side by Roy Street, the proper ty <br />line behle,en S8.1e Knitting Company and the James R. Knott <br />property, and a new line from the southeast corner of the <br />
