FranK ~.,rilson pr9f3iding, was held in the Council Chamber, Gi\T Hall, Tuesday, Februal~Y 11,1964, beginning at 7:30 P.M., all members of Council being preSGDt, viz., Mayor J. Frank Wilson; Vice-Mayor Fred T. Reni8k, M.D.; Harry L. Boaz; Thomas J. Burch; and E. E. Stone. - After the invo~ation, Council approved as recorded (",n3 mi.'ll.1t3s of its regular meeting held January 28, 196LI-' Upon recommendation of City Manager Hirst, Council approved for execution by the City of a contrhl.~.~ between the City and Mess.r:'s. Not"'Illan McGhee and John Lancaster, whereby Mes~3rs. McGhee and Lancaster- -in accordance with Council's undEH'standing as recorded in minutes of Janna:7 14, 1964--\...rill be allowed to construct a six-inch water main connecting to the City's present water main terminus on Chatham Road and extending along Chatham Road (outside the corporate limits) for a distance of approximately 900 feet, suoject to the payment of all costs by Messrs. McGhee and Lancaster and, further, subject to the City's regu'::'ations g07erning utility extensions oQ-':,side the corporate limits. .- Also upon Y'ecomrnendation of City Manager Hirst, Council authorized the retaining of Mr. J. Coates Carter, Arch5..t'3ct, for architectural servL:es in connection with proposed municipal facilities contemplated for location on the City's property at and along Church and Moss Streets. - Further, upon recommendation of City Manager Hirst, Council aut:lorized the proceeding wi th Phase 1 of the seven-to-eight-year progl'am for the continued developm<:mt and expansion of the City's Electric Utility System, pursuant to report subnitted by the City's consulting engineers to Council on December 30, 1963.
