Fr~~k Wilson presiding, was held in the Council Chamber, <br /> <br />City Hall, Tuesday, November 12, 1963, beginning at 7:30 P.M. All ~emb8rs of <br /> <br />Council were present, viz., Mayor J. Frank Wilson; Vice-Mayor Fred T. Renick, <br /> <br />M.D.; Harry L. Boaz; Thomas J. Burch; and E. E. Stone. <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved as recorded the minutes of its regular <br /> <br />meeting held October 22, 1963. <br /> <br />Pursu~nt to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public hearin~ <br /> <br />on a proposal--carrying the Plan:rdng Commission's approval--to rezone from <br /> <br />"A-1 Resid,:mtiall' to "P-2 Profession.al'1 all that property extending southward <br /> <br />along the east sidE) of Cleveland Avenue from--and including--the Drewe~y- <br /> <br />Worth~ngton property at 7 Cleveland Avenue to 15 Cleveland Avenue, such <br /> <br />proposed rezonin~ to apply to such properties fronting on Cleveland Avenue <br /> <br />for the depth of such properties. Attorney John Epperly appeared before <br /> <br />Council on behalf of his clients, Mrs. Freda D. Worthington and Mr. A. C. <br /> <br />Drewery, petitioners. There being no objections registered to the proposed <br /> <br />rezo~ing, Council adopted the following ordinance effecting this rezoning and <br /> <br />amending the City's Zoning Code and Map: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />in regular meetin.g assembled thL3 twelfth day of November, 1963, <br />that the City's Zoning Code and Zoning Map be and are hereby amended <br />to reclassify--for zoning purposes--to "p--2 Professional" all that <br />propel'':,Y located and fronting on the east side of Cleveland Avenue <br />from (and including) the Worthington-Drewery property at 7 Cleveland <br />Avenue southward to 15 Cleveland Avenue. <br /> <br />By report dated October 31, 1963, the Martinsville Planning Commission <br /> <br />recommended that the rezoning petition recently submitted by W. B. Leverton <br /> <br />& Associates--requesting the rezoning from "A-l Residential" to "B-1 Business" <br />
