<br />.38 <br /> <br />MONI:u\ Y <br /> <br />MAY 6, 1963 <br /> <br />A special and duly-called meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br /> <br />with :,Tayor J. Frank Wilson presiding, was held in the Council Chamber, City Hall, <br /> <br />Monday, May 6, 1963, beginning at 12:10 P.M., for the purpose of receiving and acting <br /> <br />upon a rezoning petition submitted through Attorney M. Harrison Joyce for and on behalf <br /> <br />of the estate of the late Mrs. Cecil Witten Ford. All members of Council were present, <br /> <br />viz., Mayor J. Frank Wilson; Dr. Fred T. Renick, Vice-Mayor; Harry L. Boaz: Thomas J. <br /> <br />Burch; and E. E. stone. <br /> <br />After the invocation and the stating of the purpose of this meeting, Attorney Joyce <br /> <br />presented a petition--accompanied by map--requesting the rezoning to "B-1 Business" <br /> <br />all that property located at 128 East Church Street, O"Imed by the late Mrs. Cecil <br />Witten Ford (wife of the late O. D. Ford), not presently so zoned, consisting of a lot <br /> <br />fronting on East Church Street--a "B-I Business" zoning aJready in effect on said lot <br /> <br />for a depth of 150 feet--and extending south towards Brown Street for a depth of <br /> <br />approximate ly 690 to 699 feet. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council referred this petition to <br /> <br />the Planning Commission for its consideration and recommendation. <br /> <br />Council was adjournE~d. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br /> <br />f~~~:ct;rk of Council <br />
