<br />) ,"""'- j <br />) i ~J <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />JANUARY 14. 1969 <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br /> <br />Virginia, with Mayor F. T. Renick, M.D., presiding, was held Tuesday, <br /> <br />January 14, 1969, in the Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 7:30 P.M., <br /> <br />all members being present, with the exception of Councilman Francis T. West, <br /> <br />viz., Mayor F. T. Renick, M.D.; Harry L. Boaz; W. Donald Hartford; and <br /> <br />William D. Hobson. <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved as recorded the minutes of its <br /> <br />regular meeting held December 30, 1968. <br /> <br />In acknowledging the retirement, on December 31, 1968, of Police Officers <br /> <br />Frank J. Hundley (employed April, 1944) and George W. Jordan (employed <br /> <br />September, 1946), Council expressed appreciation of their faithful and <br /> <br />efficient services to the City and its citizens. <br /> <br />Pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public <br /> <br />hearing on a proposal--carrying approval of the Planning Commission--to <br /> <br />rezone to "C-3 Commercial" that property owned by Rich Oil Sales, Inc., <br /> <br />and located at the northeast corner of Clearview Drive and Liberty Street. <br /> <br />There being no objections registered by anyone to this proposed rezoning, <br /> <br />Council adopted the following ordinance~~mending the City's Zoning Code <br /> <br />and Zoning Map to effect said rezoning: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br />Virginia, in regular meeting assembled this fourteenth day <br />of January, 1969, that the City's Zoning Code and Zoning <br />M~p be, and are hereby, amended to reclassify--for zoning <br />purposes--to "C-3 Commercial" that property owned by Rich <br />Oil Sales, Inc., as located at the northeast corner of Clearview <br />Drive and Liberty Street, including such~~f owner's property as <br />fronts the east side of Liberty Street between Clearview Drive <br />and the property now occupied by the Northside Sport Shop. <br /> <br />" ~ <br />"l~ <br /> <br />,~ <br />c <br /> <br />~~I <br /> <br />'- <br /> <br />(-.,:" C 0~~ -.... --."
