<br />. -1 r '1. <br />~ <br />l .; <br /> <br />FRIDAY <br /> <br />MAY 4, 1973 <br /> <br />A special and duly-called meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br /> <br />Virginia, for the purpose of discussing certain legal matters, was held <br /> <br />Friday, May 4, 1973, in the Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 1:00 <br /> <br />P.M., the following members being present: Mayor Francis T. West; Harry L. <br /> <br />Boaz, Vice Mayor; W. Donald Hartford; and Morton W. Lester. Absent was <br /> <br />Councilman William D. Hobson. <br /> <br />Upon the convening of the meeting, and following the roll call, Mayor West <br /> <br />stated the purpose of said meeting. City Manager Noland then suggested <br /> <br />and requested that Council consider these legal matters in Executive Session, <br /> <br />pursuant to and in conformance with Section 6 of the "Virginia Freedom <br /> <br />Information Act"J; whereupon motion by Councilman Lester, seconded by <br /> <br />Councilman Hartford, Council unanimously convened into Executive Session. <br /> <br />At the conclusion of said Executive Session, Council reconvened into regular <br /> <br />session and announced--through Mayor West--that no conclusion has yet been formed <br /> <br />by Council on the matters considered and, furthermore, due to the delicacy <br /> <br />of the matters any comments thereon at this time would not be jn the best interest <br /> <br />of the citizens and taypayers. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />)~^^<" <br />W.
