Boaz presiding, was held Monday, June 14, 1976,

in the Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 3:00 P.M., for the purpose--

as stated by Council in its call for such meeting by its action taken during

its regular meeting held June 8, 1976--of continuing its study of a proposed

1976-77 City Budget. All members of Council were present, viz., Harry L. Boaz,

Mayor; William D. Hobson, Vice Mayor; G. S. Fitz-Hugh, Jr.; Barry A. Greene;

and Morton W. Lester.

After convening this meeting and the stating of the purpose thereof, Council

discussed the Blue Ridge Regional Library's 1976-77 budget request, as well as

certain facets of the library's operations, with Mrs. Betty M. Ragsdale, Director,

who was accompanied by Mr. N. Stewart Miller, a member of the Library Board.

Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried (by roll call vote), Council

convened into an Executive Session for the purpose of discussing personnel

matters relating to the proposed 1976-77 budget, following which Council

reconvened into regular session, announcing that such personnel matters have

been discussed in said Executive Session. Council then directed the City's

administrative personnel to return to Council, as soon as possible, with a

balanced budget which, including certain revisions Council has previously

suggested, would require no local tax increases for 1976-77.

Council was adjourned.

2A-').;,\..:'\Y' ".,- '-_
W.
