Ronald Ferrill <br /> <br />Pledge to the American flag <br /> <br />1. Consider approval of the minutes of City Council's meetings of May 16 <br />and 23 and August 5. 9 and 23. 2005. <br /> <br />2. Presentation by Piedmont Arts Association of an overview of the year's <br />programming plans with special emphasis on educational outreach. <br /> <br />3. Recognition of citizens/ staff <br /> <br />A. Nominees for the 2005 Third-Quarter Service Excellence Award and <br />announcement of Quarterly Winner <br /> <br />B. City employees receiving Service Awards from July to September, <br />2005 <br /> <br />4. Consider adoption of a Resolution establishing the National Incident <br />Management System (NIMS) as the City's standard for incident <br />management. <br /> <br />5. Consider adoption of a Resolution authorizing the City to file an <br />application to the Department of Housing and Community Development <br />for a grant to be used for redevelopment of abandoned industrial sites in <br />economically distressed rural areas. <br /> <br />6. Conduct a public hearing and consider adoption. on first reading. of <br />Ordinance to rezone 509 E. Church Street (Tax Map 34(3)A/ 16), from R- <br />9 Residential to P-2 Professional. and Ordinance to amend the City's <br />Land Use Map to indicate the northwest side of this entire block. as <br />Professional rather than the present designation of Low Medium Density <br />Residential. <br /> <br />7. Consider rescheduling the October 25. 2005 Council meeting due to <br />conflict with the VML Conference in Richmond. <br />
