AGENDA ADDENDUM <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />CITY OF MARTINSVILLE, VIRGINIA <br /> <br />Council Chambers - Municipal Building <br />7:30 p.m. - Tuesday, May 25, 2004 <br /> <br />Conduct a public hearing for the purpose of receiving/interviewing <br />citizens interested in appointment to one position on the City's School <br />Board. (See Enclosure #8) <br /> <br />COMMENTS: As Council is aware, Lynn Ward's term ends June 30, <br />2004. Mrs. Ward is eligible for reappointment and she has indicated she <br />is not interested in reappointment. We have received applications from <br />Craig Dietrich, 1227 Lanier Road; Bernie F. Gray, Jr., 914 Vine Street; <br />Jay Judkins, 1027 Jefferson Circle and Bill R. Manning, 1118 Knollwood <br />Place. <br /> <br />Should Council desire, it can convene in Closed Session, under <br />Subsection 1 of the FOI Act, for the purpose of interviewing the <br />applicants. According to State Law, only those citizens interviewed by <br />Council or whose name was brought up during the Public Hearing can be <br />considered for appointment, and appointments cannot be made until <br />seven days after the Public Hearing, thus this item will be on Council's <br />June 8th Agenda. <br /> <br />XI. CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br /> D. Set a Public Hearing for June 8, 2004, to receive applicants for an <br /> interim appointment to the City's School Board. <br /> <br />XIII. Continuation of FY05 budget reviews <br /> <br /> A. Blue Ridge Airport Authority <br /> B. Capital Projects <br /> <br />XIV. Hear an update from Benny Summerlin, County Administrator, <br /> concerning revenue-sharing lots at The Patriot Centre. <br /> <br /> <br />
