AGENDA <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />CITY OF MARTINSVILLE, VIRGINIA <br /> <br />Council Chambers - Municipal Building <br />7:30 P.M. - Tuesday, November 26, 2002 <br /> <br />Invocation - Council Member J. Ronald Ferrill <br /> <br />Pledge to the American flag <br /> <br />I. Consider approval of the minutes of City Council's meetings of October 9-10 <br /> and November 6, 2002. {See Enclosures #1-a and l-b) <br /> <br />II. Recognition of citizens who have served on the City's Deer Population <br /> Management Task Force. (See Enclosure #2) <br /> <br />III. Consider authorizing the City Manager to send a letter to the Virginia <br /> Department of Game and Inland Fisheries in support of a request made by <br /> the Henry County Board of Supervisors to extend the General Firearms Deer <br /> Season to seven weeks in Henry County. (See Enclosure #3) <br /> <br />COMMENTS: This request is consistent with a recent recommendation made <br />by the Martinsville Deer Population Management Task Force. Therefore, we <br />recommend approval of this request. <br /> <br />IV. Consider adoption of 2003 legislative policy statements. (See Enclosure #4) <br /> <br />.COMMENTS: The City Manager will present draft policy statements for the <br />Council's consideration. Also, in attendance will be our area legislators, <br />constitutional officers and school superintendent. <br /> <br />V. Consider adoption of revisions to the City's FY03 budget to offset recent state <br /> budget reductions. (See Enclosure #5) <br /> <br />COMMENTS: If Council approves the adoption of these budget revisions, two <br />(2} ordinances will need to be adopted to allow the Circuit Court Clerk to <br />collect the document reproduction, court records management and remote <br />access fees. The Clerk and City Attorney are preparing these ordinances and <br />they will be presented at the meeting. <br /> <br />VI. Consider adoption, on second reading, of Ordinance 2002-13 amending <br /> Section 12-50 license year of Chapter 23 of the City Code. (See Enclosure #6) <br /> <br /> <br />
