AGENDA CITY COUNCIL MEETING CITY OF MARTINSVILLE, VIRGINIA Council Chambers - Municipal Building 7:30 P.M. - Tuesday, November 26, 2002 Invocation - Council Member J. Ronald Ferrill Pledge to the American flag I. Consider approval of the minutes of City Council's meetings of October 9-10 and November 6, 2002. {See Enclosures #1-a and l-b) II. Recognition of citizens who have served on the City's Deer Population Management Task Force. (See Enclosure #2) III. Consider authorizing the City Manager to send a letter to the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries in support of a request made by the Henry County Board of Supervisors to extend the General Firearms Deer Season to seven weeks in Henry County. (See Enclosure #3) COMMENTS: This request is consistent with a recent recommendation made by the Martinsville Deer Population Management Task Force. Therefore, we recommend approval of this request. IV. Consider adoption of 2003 legislative policy statements. (See Enclosure #4) .COMMENTS: The City Manager will present draft policy statements for the Council's consideration. Also, in attendance will be our area legislators, constitutional officers and school superintendent. V. Consider adoption of revisions to the City's FY03 budget to offset recent state budget reductions. (See Enclosure #5) COMMENTS: If Council approves the adoption of these budget revisions, two (2} ordinances will need to be adopted to allow the Circuit Court Clerk to collect the document reproduction, court records management and remote access fees. The Clerk and City Attorney are preparing these ordinances and they will be presented at the meeting. VI. Consider adoption, on second reading, of Ordinance 2002-13 amending Section 12-50 license year of Chapter 23 of the City Code. (See Enclosure #6)
