T. Dallas <br /> <br />Consider approval of the minutes of City Council's meetings of December <br />6 and 11. (See Enclosure # 1-a and # l-b) <br /> <br />Recognition of Gateway Streetscape for receipt of two Landscape <br />Excellence Awards for the second year in a row. <br /> <br />COMMENTS: Virginia Beautiful, Inc. awarded Gateway Streetscape for <br />the Uptown Farmers' Market landscaping project, which was a joint <br />project between Gateway Streetscape, the Farmers' Market and <br />Martinsville's Public Works Department. Mrs. Lisa Barker, of MURA, <br />will be at the meeting to present these awards to Council. <br /> <br />Consider a request from the Martinsville-Henry County Chamber of <br />Commerce for the City to impose a lodging tax to support tourism. (See <br />Enclosure #2) <br /> <br />COMMENTS: Mrs. Kim Adkins, Executive Vice President of the <br />Chamber, will be at your meeting to make this request on behalf of the <br />Chamber. <br /> <br />Business from the Floor <br /> <br />Consider adoption of a Resolution approving amendments to the City's <br />deferred compensation plan. {See Enclosure #3) <br /> <br />COMMENTS: Changes to the laws governing Section 457 deferred <br />compensation plans as part of the Economic Growth and Tax Relief <br />Reconciliation Act of 2001 (EGTRRA) became effective on January 1, <br />2002. Since it has been the City's practice to approve amendments to <br />the City's plan document by Resolution, we recommend that Council <br />approve this Resolution. <br /> <br />VI. CONSENT AGENDA: <br /> <br />Ao <br /> <br />Accept and appropriate in the General Fund for the FY2001-02 <br />Budget the following: <br /> <br />$420.75 into Revenue line 01101917 442401 - Confiscated <br />Assets/Police Department for Expenditure 01311085 506078 - <br />Confiscated Assets/State <br /> <br /> <br />
