:2.68 <br /> <br />TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 19, 1991 <br /> <br />A specialand duly-called meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br />Virginia, with Mayor Allan McClain presiding, was held Tuesday, November 19, <br />1991, in the Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 1:00 P.M. Members of <br />Council present were: Allan McClain, Mayor; Alfred T. Groden, Vice-Mayor; <br />George B. Adams, Jr.; L. D. Oakes; and Clyde L. Williams. <br /> <br />After.the invocation, as a follow-up to Council's meeting of the previous <br />day, Mayor McClain read a letter which had been given to him on November'iS, <br />1991, from .David Hoback, Patrick County Administrator. In the letter, <br />Patrick County requests consideration for them to participate in Martinsville <br />and Henry County's solid waste facility as a partner. Acting City Manager <br />Lance Heater noted that the Henry County Board of Supervisors had received <br />the same letter. The letter was referred to Mr. Heater to discuss with the <br />Evaluation Committee and to respond to Mr. Hoback. Mr. Heater stated that <br />the request would most likely be referred to Chambers for contract <br />negotiations with Patrick County as to rates to be charged for the use of <br />theirlandfiI1. -Councilman Oakes stated that he felt the City and Henry <br />County should give Patrick County the opportunity to contribute financially <br />to the expenses that have already been incurred and any future costs to ~3e <br />incurred regarding this project before turning it over to the Committee for' <br />negotiations with Chambers. <br /> <br />Upon motion, <br /> <br />supplemental <br />Surplus to <br /> <br />Reservoir. <br /> <br /> duly seconded and unanimous vote, Council authorized a <br /> <br /> appropriation of up to $60,000 from the FY91-92 Water Fund <br />pay for unanticipated repairs to the spillway at ~the City <br /> <br /> Mr. Heater and John Dyches, Director of 'Water Resources, <br /> <br />explained that, as a result of the low water level at the Reservoir at the <br />present time, it had been discovered that there were voids under the concrete <br />deck of the spillway where apparently soil has been washed away° Mro Heater <br /> <br /> <br />
