308 MONDA Y APRIL.?8J.. 1958 A special meeting of Martinsville City Council, called on due notice to all members of the Council, was held in the Council Chamber, City Hall, rlonday, April 28, 1958, at 11:h5 A.M., for the pur!)ose of considering further the petition submitted by Mr. George L. Nease, President of George's, Incorporated, requesting the closing of a portion of Sunset Drive, and for the purpose of filinG a vacancy on the Board of Zoning Appeals. Present were Vice-Mayor E. E. Stone, presiding, and Councilmen B. H. Hill and J. R. Walker. Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimous~ carried by a recorded vote of members present, Council went on record as apnroving the follCYtrir.g affidavit with the under- standing that George IS, Ire orporated will immediately follow the procedure far closing and vacating streots as provided by in Section 15-766.1 and in Section 15-766 of the Code of Virginia; furthermore, Council authorized City Manager Hirst to execute on behalf of the City a quit-claim deed to that unopened portion of Sunset Drive: STATE OF VIRGINIA, C ITi OF I!.AR TINSVILLE, TO-'JrIT: George L. Nease, President of C~orge's, Incorporated, of Mm~tinsville, Virgilua, being duly sworn according to law, deposes and says that George's, Incorporatec., is the m'Tner of all the land abuttinG that portion of a thirty-foot street COrrJI'2only known and designated as SUIlSet Drive, in the City of Martinsville, Virginia, which portion of said Sur.set Drive has never been opened to the pub1ic, nor used as 2_ public thorouGhfa:e, the description of same being as follows, to-vat: BEGINNING at an iron stake on the dividing line between Lot 9 and Lot 10 as shawn on a map of property situated on IvIemarial Boulevard in the City of r\~artinsville, Virginia, designated "Record Plat Georr;e's Inc." prepared by W. C. Brown, C. L. S., dated December 19, 1957, and of record ir. the City of l.r-artinsville Circu~_t Court Clerk's Office in I'.-Iap Book , Page ; thence N. 70 deg. 42 min. E. IS7 feet to a point in the dividing line between Lot 6 and Lot 7; thence in a northwesterly direction a distance of 30 feet along the dividing line between Lot 6 and Lot 7 to another point; thence S. 70 deg. 42 min.
