<br />308 <br /> <br />MONDA Y <br /> <br />APRIL.?8J.. 1958 <br /> <br />A special meeting of Martinsville City Council, called on due notice to all members <br /> <br />of the Council, was held in the Council Chamber, City Hall, rlonday, April 28, 1958, <br /> <br />at 11:h5 A.M., for the pur!)ose of considering further the petition submitted by <br /> <br />Mr. George L. Nease, President of George's, Incorporated, requesting the closing of <br /> <br />a portion of Sunset Drive, and for the purpose of filinG a vacancy on the Board of <br /> <br />Zoning Appeals. Present were Vice-Mayor E. E. Stone, presiding, and Councilmen <br /> <br />B. H. Hill and J. R. Walker. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimous~ carried by a recorded vote of members <br /> <br />present, Council went on record as apnroving the follCYtrir.g affidavit with the under- <br /> <br />standing that George IS, Ire orporated will immediately follow the procedure far <br /> <br />closing and vacating streots as provided by in Section 15-766.1 and in Section <br /> <br />15-766 of the Code of Virginia; furthermore, Council authorized City Manager Hirst <br /> <br />to execute on behalf of the City a quit-claim deed to that unopened portion of <br /> <br />Sunset Drive: <br /> <br />STATE OF VIRGINIA, <br />C ITi OF I!.AR TINSVILLE, TO-'JrIT: <br /> <br />George L. Nease, President of C~orge's, Incorporated, of Mm~tinsville, <br />Virgilua, being duly sworn according to law, deposes and says that George's, <br />Incorporatec., is the m'Tner of all the land abuttinG that portion of a <br />thirty-foot street COrrJI'2only known and designated as SUIlSet Drive, in the City <br />of Martinsville, Virginia, which portion of said Sur.set Drive has never been <br />opened to the pub1ic, nor used as 2_ public thorouGhfa:e, the description of <br />same being as follows, to-vat: <br /> <br />BEGINNING at an iron stake on the dividing line between Lot 9 and Lot 10 <br />as shawn on a map of property situated on IvIemarial Boulevard in the City of <br />r\~artinsville, Virginia, designated "Record Plat Georr;e's Inc." prepared by <br />W.
