THURSDAY SEPl'EMBER 24, 1959 I-"'-,~ A special meeting of Martimville City Council, duly called in accordance with Section 5(a) of the Charter of the City of Martinsville, was held in the Council Chamber, City Hall, Thursday, September' 24,1959, at 11:30 A.M., for the stated purpose of considering and/or acting upon the 1960 salary and expense requests of the constitutional officers hereinafter listed. All members of Council were present, viz., Mayor John W. Shultz, presiding; Vice-Mayor E. E. Stone; Thomas J. .~ Burch; Clarence C. Donavant; and J. Frank Wilson. After the invocation and the stating of the purpose of the meeting, Council received and approved the following 1960 requests: Office of City Treasurer: Salary of Treasurer . . . Other Expenses ..... ...... $ 7,800.00 14,955.00 $ 22,755.00 .......... Office of Commissioner of Revenue: Salary of Commissioner .. . . . . These expense requests represented a net increase of $270.63 to the City for the period January 1, 1960 through June 30, 1960, for which provision was not made in the City's current budget, whereupon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried by a recorded vote, Council appropriated from its General Fund Emergency Account said sum of $270.63 to be apportioned to the various individual accounts affected.
