<br />1 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />HAJWH 26. 1 ~~ <br /> <br />--- <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br /> <br />Virginia, with Mayor J. Frank Wilson presiding, was held in the Council Chamber, <br /> <br />City Hall, Tuesday, March 26, 1963, beginning at 7:30 P.M., all members of <br /> <br />Council being present, viz., l"l8.yor J. Frank Wilson; Vice-Nayor Fred T. Renick, <br /> <br />M.D.; Harry L. Boaz; Thomas J. Burch; and E. E. Stone. <br /> <br />.'-' <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved as recorded the minutes of its regular <br /> <br />meeting held ~mrch 12, 1963. <br /> <br />Pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public hearing <br /> <br />on a proposal--recommended by the Planning Commission to the Council on Febrclary <br /> <br />28, 1963--to amend the City's Zoning Ordinance to permit the construction of <br /> <br />multi-famil:r dwelling units, under certain conditions, not only on corner lots <br /> <br />(as now permitted) but also on other-than-corner lots. After some discussion, <br /> <br />COlmcil continued consideration of the proposal pending further study jointly <br /> <br />Hi th the Planning Cormnission. <br /> <br />Council was informed that a petition sul:mitted February 12, 1963, by Attorney <br /> <br />..- <br /> <br />J. English Ford on behalf of ~~. Stafford G. 1{hittle, III, Agent,_requesting the <br /> <br />rezoning of property at 412 E. Church Street, has been withdrawn by the petitioner <br />jl! <br /> <br />for an indefinite period of time. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and ~lanimously carried, Council adopted the follovnng <br /> <br />ordinance amending and revising the City's Phunbing Code, effective July 1, 1963, <br /> <br />as recommended March 12, 1963, by the Plullbing Code COmmittee: <br />
