iGO TUESDAY APRIL 25, 1967 The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, with Mayor F. T. Renick, M.D., presiding, was held Tuesday, April 25, 1967, beginning at 7:30 P.M., in the Council Chamber, City Hall, all members being present, viz., D:. F. T. Renick, Mayor; E. E. Stone, Vice- Mayor; Harry L. Boaz, W. Donald Hartford; and Francis T. West. After the invocation, Council approved as recorded the minutes of its regular meeting held April 11, 1967. Pursuant to recent re-advertising for bids for the construction or installation of steel covers on the City's (uncovered) water storage tanks, this project being identified as "Division III, Waterworks Improvements", the following bids were received and continued for study by the City and by the City's consulting engineers: Pittsburgh-Des Moines . . . . . . . . Capitol City Iron Works (conditional) Graver Tank & Manufacturing Company (conditional) Dorcon, Inc. .................. $ 93,400.00 102,800.00 78, 1 46 . 00 92,200.00 110,954.00 Council also continued for study a request from Mr. Warren Norman for a refund of business license tax paid for his service station operation, on Lester Street, for the license tax year beginning May 1, 1965, which request was predicated upon the assumption that--inasmuch as he discontinued his business on December 31, 1965--he would be entitled to a refund measured by the un-used portion of the license tax year. Council unanimously requested the firm of James L. Lavinder, CPA, to conduct the City's required annual audit for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1967.
