<br />1 q <br /> <br />MONDAY <br /> <br />JULY 30, 1973 <br /> <br />A special and duly-called meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br /> <br />with Mayor Francis T. West presiding, was held Monday, July 30, 1973, in the Council <br /> <br />Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 1:00 P.M., for the purpose of considering two real <br /> <br />estate matters. Members present were: Francis T. West, Mayor; Harry L. Boaz, Vice <br /> <br />Mayor; and William D. Hobson. <br /> <br />After the stating of the purpose of this meeting, and because of the nature of the real <br /> <br />,-- <br /> <br />estate matters for which the meeting was called, upon motion (duly seconded and unanimously <br /> <br />carried) Council went into an Executive Session to consider these matters, at the <br /> <br />reconvened <br />conclusion of which Council ~mmxHB into regular session and unanimously (after motions, <br /> <br />duly seconded and unanimously carried) took the following actions: <br /> <br />(1) pursuant to request of Glazed Products, Inc., authorized the sale of <br />3~-to-4 acres of land in the City's Industrial Park to Glazed Products, <br />Inc., at $5,000.00 per acre, said land adjoining that which was <br />authorized sold to said Glazed Products, Inc., by Council's action <br />from meeting of June 12, 1973; <br /> <br />(2) authorized the purchase from Mrs. H. R. (Gladys B.) Lacy that property, <br />consisting of house and lot located at 12 Gravely Street, immediately <br />east of the City's frontage on the north side of said Gravely Street, <br />for the sum of $27,000.00, payable $15,000.00 cash and the balance <br />(without interest) payable $3,000.00 per year for each of next four <br />years; and <br /> <br />(3) appropriated from proceeds of aforementioned Industrial Park land sold the <br />sum of $15,000.00 for the purchase of the aforementioned Lacy property. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />w.
