<br />qr <br />~> '",p <br /> <br />THURS)).AY <br /> <br />MARCH 29, 1973 <br /> <br />A special meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsvil1e, Virginia, <br /> <br />called as per action taken by said Council at its regular meeting held <br /> <br />March 27, 1973, was held Thursday, March 29, 1973, beginning at 4:00 P.M., <br /> <br />in the Council Chamber, City Hall, for the purpose of adopting certain <br /> <br />guidelines for the City Manager in the preparation of his forthcoming <br /> <br />recommended 1973-1974 City Budget. All members were present, viz., <br /> <br />Mayor Francis T. West, presiding; Harry L. Boaz, Vice Mayor; W. Donald <br /> <br />Hartford; William D. Hobson; and Morton W. Lester. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council adjourned into <br /> <br />an Executive Session to consider the adopting of certain guidelines, as <br /> <br />hereinbefore mentioned, as they pertain to personnel and salary rates. <br /> <br />After said Executive Session, Council reconvened into a regular (and special) <br /> <br />session, with Mayor West reporting that Council had discussed cost-of-living <br /> <br />increases as well as discretionary and merit increases for City personnel <br /> <br />to furnish City Manager Noland with guidelines toward the preparation of his <br /> <br />forthcoming recommended 1973-1974 City Budget. <br /> <br />Council then called for a special meeting of Council at 12:30 P.M., Monday, <br /> <br />April 2, 1973, at the City School Board office, for the purpose of receiving <br /> <br />the City School Board's proposed 1973-1974 budget requests and to give <br /> <br />further consideration to other proposed budget matters. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />)QCJ · <br />W.
