Electric Division. The winner of the Second Quarter's Senrice Excellence Award was Jimmy Blankenship. <br />Mr. Blankenship received a check for $50 after receiving the award. <br /> <br />Next, Council opened the Town Meeting. City Manager Reynolds explained the City's methodology for <br />handling City customer service issues. Mr. Reynolds recognized Brenda Prillaman, Customer Service <br />Representative, for her diligent work in collecting the data for customer service issues. Council Member <br />Haskell commended Mrs. Prillaman for producing a superior document and working towards the customer <br />service issues. The Town Meeting was opened. City resident Gloria Hylton addressed Council and thanked <br />Council Members for finding innovative ways for funding reconstruction of Albert Harris School. Ms. Hylton <br />thanked Council Members for the site cleanup of the former R.P. Thomas Trucking Site on Fayette Street. <br />City resident Thelma Pinkard addressed Council and thanked Council Member Haskell for efforts on the City <br /> <br />Council. Mrs. Pinkard said she feels City residents are encouraged to speak out on issues, and they will be <br /> . <br /> <br />heard. Mrs. Vinkard thanked City Manager Reynolds and,,.Wayne KnoCk, City Planning, Zoning, and Housing <br /> <br />Manager, for dedicated work. Mrs. Pinkard also expressed appreciation for the work by the City Sheriff and <br />Police Chief. Steve Draper, City Sheriff, addressed Council and invited citizens and members of Council to <br />attend the National Night Out on Tuesday, August 1, 2000 in the Broad Street Parking Lot. Sheriff Draper <br />explained the purpose of the event is for citizens to send the message that neighborhoods do not support <br />crime. The event features free-food, games for kids, displays, a parade, carriage rides, and live bands. <br />Admission will be free. Sheriff Draper read the names of City Departments coordinating the event and <br />sponsors. To date, the community has donated $6,975 towards the event.
