Council Member Haskell stated, "I'm astonished at <br />what you can do with what you receive." <br /> <br /> Toy Cobbe, Director of the Piedmont Arts Association, stated, "We've developed <br />partnerships with the Virginia Museum of Natural History, Piedmont Community <br />Services, Citizens Against Family Violence, the Reynolds Homestead, and Patrick <br />Henry Community College. This fall, the 'Just Racing' exhibit will be tied into Speedfest. <br />We carry no debt on the building." <br /> <br /> Clark Eden, Chairman of the Blue Ridge Airport Authority, stated, "We're <br />planning to widen and strengthen the runways this year. We've hired a new airport <br />manager, Tommy Grimes." <br /> <br /> Jerry Brock, Fire Chief, stated, "I'm requesting in increase in the uniform line <br /> item. ,I It's 'be~n-at least tWenty years since the last new winter jackets were purchased. <br /> I'm projecting 27 coats at $175 each." <br /> <br /> Steve Pike, Director of the Virginia Museum of Natural History, "The $6,000 <br /> increase is to make the part-time educator a full-time position." Museum Board <br /> members Jim Baker, Ira Trollinger, Jean Adams, and Teresa Lilly also appeared. <br /> <br /> Dr. Elizabeth Roycroft and Charles Toothman, of the Henry-Martinsville Health <br /> Department, appeared to request $8,381 more than the proposed budget. <br /> <br /> George Lyle, President of the Martinsville Uptown Revitalization Association, <br /> stated, "Our executive director resigned; we're searching nationally. Lisa Barker is <br /> serving as the Interim Executive Director." City Manager Reynolds stated, "1 will point <br /> out that the proposed budget does not include any money for the tree replacement <br /> <br />program." <br /> <br /> <br />
