TUESDAY, Mawr 23, 2000 <br />Council moved upon motion duly seconded, with all members voting: Vote 5-0; Yeas (5)- Crabtree, Teague, <br /> <br />Dallas, Haskell, and Roop; Nays (0)- None, to approve both items from the Consent Agenda. <br /> <br />In accordance with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, and as amended) and upon <br />motion, duly seconded, and by unanimous recorded vote, Council convened in Closed Session for the purpose <br />of discussing the following matters: <br /> <br />Appointments/Reappointments to various Boards/Commissions, as authorized by Subsection 1, as follows: <br /> 1. Martinsville Transportation Safety Commission, one unexpired term ending 12/31/2001. <br /> 2. Clean Community Commission, one two-year term ending 2/29/2002. <br /> At the conclusion of this Closed Session, each member of Council certified that (1) only public business <br /> matters exempt from open meeting requirements were discussed in said Closed Session; and (2) only those <br /> business matters identified in the motion convening the Closed Session were heard, discussed, or considered <br /> during said Session. <br /> <br />Following their return to open meeting, Council moved upon motion duly seconded, with all members voting: <br />Vote 5-0; Yeas (5)- Crabtree, Teague, Dallas, Haskell, and Roop; Nays (0)- None, the following action: <br /> <br />A. Appointed Lorene Martin of 921 Myrtle Road to the Martinsville Transportation Safety Commission, <br /> for one unexpired term ending 12/31/2001. <br /> <br />B. Appointed Captain Tim Porter of the Martinsville Police Department to the Clean Community <br /> Commission, for one two-year term ending 2/29/2002. <br /> <br />There being no further business to come before Council, upon motion duly seconded, by unanimous vote, <br /> <br />Clarence C.
