May 9, 2000 <br /> <br /> Council Member Roop moved to authorize the Mayor to execute the proposed <br /> Agreement; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all <br /> members voting: V~ti~ 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Crabtree, Dallas, Haskell, Roop, Teague; Nays <br /> (0) - None. <br /> <br /> Council considered the need to meet in Closed Session. In accordance with <br /> Section 2.1-344 (A) of the Code of Vir.qinia (1950, and as amended) and upon motion <br /> by Council Member Roop, duly seconded, and by unanimous recorded vote, Council <br /> convened in Closed Session, for the purpose of discussing the following matters: <br /> <br /> A. Appointment to the Transportation Safety Commission, as <br /> authorized in Subsection 1. <br /> B. Discussion of a specific appointee by City Council, as <br /> authorized by Subsection 1. <br /> C. Bdefing by legal counsel, as authorized by Subsection 7. <br /> <br /> Council recessed at 8:20 P. M., and convened as the Martinsville <br />Redevelopment and Housing Authority. <br /> <br /> The Authority considered the need to meet in Closed Session. In accordance <br />with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the Code of Vir.clinia (1950, and as amended) and upon <br />motion by Authority Member Roop, duly seconded, and by unanimous recorded vote, <br />the Authority convened in Closed Session, for the purpose of discussing the following <br /> <br />matter: <br /> <br />Possible disposition of publicly-held property, as authorized <br />by Subsection 3. <br /> <br />At the conclusion of this Closed Session, each member of the Authority certified <br /> <br />that (1) only public business matters exempt from open meeting requirements were <br /> <br />discussed in said Closed Session; and (2) only those business matters identified in the <br /> <br /> <br />
