; <br /> <br />TUESDAY. May 23, 2000 <br /> <br />122 <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said Council does hereby authorize the City Manager, who serves as <br />Secretary to the Martinsville Industrial Development Authority, to execute'the grant application on behalf of <br />the Martinsville Industrial Development Authority, the project applicant, and other documents related to the <br />renovation of the above-referenced site for the incubator facility project. <br /> <br />Next, Council considered a request from the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court Service Unit for $19,000 <br />additional funding for FY 1999-2000 for juvenile detention services. Mr. Robert W. Foster, Director of the <br />aforementioned agency, addressed Council. Mr. Foster stated the additional funds are necessary due to <br />increased per diem rates and increased juvenile crime rates. Council Member Haskell expressed concem that <br />the problem may be the result of juveniles not being moved through the court system quick enough. Mr. <br />Foster stated juveniles are moved through the system as expeditiously as practical. Council approved upon <br />motion duly seconded, with all members voting: Vote 5-0; Yeas (5)- Crabtree, Teague, Dallas, Haskell, and <br />Roop; Nays (0)- None, to appropriate the additional $19,000. <br /> <br />Next, Council considered the financial report of the City for the period ending 4/30/2000. City Finance <br />Director Wade Bartlett summarized the report and stated that it is estimated to be a $1 million positive <br />variance at the end of the current FY as compared to the City's actual budget. Mr. Bartlett said there is <br />approximately $1.5-1.9 million remaining on the Albert Harris School project loans. <br /> <br /> Next, Council considered the Consent Agenda with the following items: <br /> <br />A. Accept and appropriate $320 in memorial donations in the name of James A. Hopkins to the fire <br /> department into Revenue 01100908-480410, for Expenditure 01321102-506010, Fire Prevention, in <br /> the FY 1999-2000 General Fund budget for the Fire Department. <br /> <br />B. Accept and appropriate $505.50 from the U.S Treasury into Revenue 01102926-436401 for <br /> Expenditure 01311085-506079, Federal Forfeited Asset Seizure in the FY 1999-2000 General Fund <br /> budget for the Police Department. <br /> <br /> <br />
