APPENDIX B-ZONING ORDINANCE Sec. I, C SECTION I: DISTRICTS AND BOUNDARIES A. Applicability of ordinance. The boundaries of the territory within which this ordinance is to be effective shall be that area which lies within the corporate limits of the City of Martinsville, hereinafter referred to as the city. B. Districts established and enumerated. In order to establish setback building lines, regulate and restrict the location, erection, construction, reconstruction, alteration, repair or use of buildings and other structures, their height, area and bulk, the percentage of the lot to be occupied by buildings or other structures, the size of yards, courts and other open spaces, and the trade, industry, residence and other specific uses of the premises in such district or districts, the incorporated area of the city is hereby divided into the following districts: R-16 Residential District R-9 Residential District R-6 Residential District P-l Medical Professional District P-2 General Professional District RP-l Residential-Professional District C-l Neighborhood Business District C-IA Intermediate Commercial District C-2 Central Business District C-3 General Commercial District B-1 Business District M-l Light Manufacturing District M-2 Heavy Manufacturing District C. Adoption of official zoning map. The locations and boundaries of the zoning districts shall be as shown on a map, accompanying this ordinance entitled "Official Zoning Map, Martinsville, Virginia." The official zoning map and the notations, references and amendments thereto, and other information shown thereon, are hereby made a part of this ordinance, just as though such information set forth on the map were fully described and set out herein. The official zoning map, properly attested by the signature of the mayor and the clerk of council with the seal of the city affixed, shall be available for inspection by the public. Supp. No. 61 1853
