<br />APPENDIX B-ZONING ORDINANCE <br /> <br />Sec. I, C <br /> <br />SECTION I: DISTRICTS AND BOUNDARIES <br /> <br />A. Applicability of ordinance. <br /> <br />The boundaries of the territory within which this ordinance is to be effective shall be that <br />area which lies within the corporate limits of the City of Martinsville, hereinafter referred to <br />as the city. <br /> <br />B. Districts established and enumerated. <br /> <br />In order to establish setback building lines, regulate and restrict the location, erection, <br />construction, reconstruction, alteration, repair or use of buildings and other structures, their <br />height, area and bulk, the percentage of the lot to be occupied by buildings or other structures, <br />the size of yards, courts and other open spaces, and the trade, industry, residence and other <br />specific uses of the premises in such district or districts, the incorporated area of the city is <br />hereby divided into the following districts: <br /> <br />R-16 Residential District <br /> <br />R-9 Residential District <br /> <br />R-6 Residential District <br /> <br />P-l Medical Professional District <br /> <br />P-2 General Professional District <br /> <br />RP-l Residential-Professional District <br /> <br />C-l Neighborhood Business District <br />C-IA Intermediate Commercial District <br /> <br />C-2 Central Business District <br /> <br />C-3 General Commercial District <br /> <br />B-1 Business District <br /> <br />M-l Light Manufacturing District <br />M-2 Heavy Manufacturing District <br /> <br />C. Adoption of official zoning map. <br /> <br />The locations and boundaries of the zoning districts shall be as shown on a map, <br />accompanying this ordinance entitled "Official Zoning Map, Martinsville, Virginia." The <br />official zoning map and the notations, references and amendments thereto, and other <br />information shown thereon, are hereby made a part of this ordinance, just as though such <br />information set forth on the map were fully described and set out herein. The official zoning <br />map, properly attested by the signature of the mayor and the clerk of council with the seal of <br />the city affixed, shall be available for inspection by the public. <br /> <br />Supp. No. 61 <br /> <br />1853 <br />
