86 March 28, 2000 Appointments to various Boards/Commissions, as authorized in Subsection 1. 1. Henry-Martinsville Joint Social Services Board. 2. Southern Area Agency on Aging Board. 3. Transportation Safety Commission. Consultation with legal counsel, as authorized in Subsection 7. At the conclusion of this Closed Session, each member of Council certified that (1) only public business matters exempt. from open meeting requirements were discussed in said Closed Session; and (2) only those business matters identified in the motion convening the Closed Session were heard, discussed, or considered during said Session. Upon return to Open Session, Council took the following actions: Appointments to various Boards/Commissions, as authorized in Subsection 1. 1. Council Member Dallas moved to reappoint Robert H. Carrington, of 1322 Root Trail, to a fouRyear term on the Henry-Martinsville Social Services Board, expiring May 31, 2004; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Crabtree, Dallas, Haskell, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None. 2. Vice Mayor Teague moved to appoint Kerry Glen Smith, of 927 Cherry Street Extension, to a three-year term on the Southern Area Agency on Aging Board, expiring March 10, 2003; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Crabtree, Dallas, Haskell, Roop, Teague; Nays (0)- None. 3. Council Member Roop moved to appoint Virginia L. Phillips, of 137 Greyson Street, to complete the unexpired four-year term of Ralph E. Shank, Jr., expidng December 31, 2002; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Crabtree, Dallas, Haskell, Roop, Teague; Nays (0)- None. No action.
