How are the local legislators responding?" Mr. <br />Richardson replied, "No, we couldn't allow others because we're a distribution company. <br />I have nothing but praise for the local legislators." Council Member Haskell asked, <br />"What are your plans?" Mr. Richardson replied, "We're fighting to remain solvent. <br />We're asking for fair treatment, not special treatment." Mr. Bartlett asked, "How many <br />electrical companies are in Virginia? North Carolina?" Mr. Richardson replied, "Sixteen <br />in Virginia and 51 in North Carolina." Council Member Haskell stated, "We have a need <br />to become more aggressive in marketing to help the consumer understand so that they <br />may appreciate our higher level of service. Citizens have better service here than larger <br />companies. We have someone right downtown." Vice Mayor Teague stated, "Thanks, <br />Gene, for being on the frontlines, fighting for the City." <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before Council during their work <br /> session, upon motion by Vice Mayor Teague, duly seconded, by unanimous vote, <br /> Mayor Crabtree declared the meeting adjourned at 8:42 P.
