REYNOLDS, JR. <br />City' Manager <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Martinsville City Council realizes the importance of participating in <br />CENSUS 2000; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Council knows that an accurate count of all Martinsville and Henry <br />County residents is imperative to building a positive future for Martinsville and Henry <br />County, the Commonwealth of Virginia and the United States; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular <br />session assembled December 14, 1999, that ' <br /> <br />The Council appoints a CENSUS COMPLETE COUNT COMMITTEE consisting of <br />co-chairperson Renee Wyatt, the City's Public Information Officer; Nancy Bell with <br />Martinsville City Schools; Frank I. Richardson from an industry; and Dr. James E. <br />Rountree, Sr., from a non-profit organization to act in tandem with a co-chairperson <br />and three other appointees by the Henry County Board of Supervisors; and <br /> <br />.2. <br /> <br />The CENSUS COMPLETE COUNT COM1VIITTEE shall be charged with working <br />with the Census Bureau and its representatives in promoting Census 2000 to all City <br />of Martinsville and Henry County residents; and <br /> <br />3. The CENSUS COMPLETE COUNT COMMITTEE will encourage every resident to <br /> accurately complete the Census questionnaire and promptly remm it by mail; and <br /> <br />4. That April 1, 2000, be designated CENSUS DAY in the City of Martinsville. <br /> <br />Johnathan B.
