VI. <br /> <br />VII. <br /> <br />VIII. <br /> <br />Conduct a public hearing on a request from CFW Intelos for a <br />Special Use Permit to construct a telecommunications facility at <br />409 South College Street (corner of Aaron and South College <br />Streets). (See Enclosure #7) <br /> <br />COMMENTS: The Planning Commission has recommended <br />approval of this Special Use Permit with special conditions as <br />noted in its letter to Council. <br /> <br />Consider adoption of a Resolution expressing opposition to the <br />Joint Legislative Audit and Review Committee's study mandated by <br />Senate Joint Resolution 411 (1999) proposing the closing of the <br />Piedmont Regional Criminal Justice Training Academy. <br />(See Enclosure #8) <br /> <br />COMMENTS: Mr. Terry Roop, as Executive Director of the Pied- <br />mont Regional Criminal Justice Training Academy, has asked each <br />governing body to adopt a Resolution similar to the one adopted by <br />the Academy's Board of Directors opposing the closing of our <br />Academy and it being merged with Cardinal Regional Training <br />Academy. We recommend that Council adopt this Resolution as <br />prepared. <br /> <br />Consider adoption of a Resolution appointing City representatives <br />to a Census Complete Count Committee to work jointly with Henry <br />County representatives in conducting CENSUS 2000. <br /> <br />COMMENTS: The Census Complete Count Committee will be a <br />joint project of Martinsville and Henry County. The Henry County <br />Board of Supervisors will be adopting a Resolution on December 13 <br />making their appointments as follows: Co-Chairperson Tim Hall <br />with the Henry County Public Service Authority, Patricia Koger <br />with Henry County Public Schools, Larry Turner with Stanley <br />Furniture, and the Reverend Tyler C. Millner with Morning Star <br />Holy Church. The City Administration recommends that Council <br />appoint Renee Wyatt as Co-Chairperson, Nancy Bell as our School <br />representative and Dr. James E. Rountree, Sr., representing the <br />non-profit community. Staff is still working to identify an industry <br />representative prior to your meeting on Tuesday. <br /> <br />Consider approval of the Housing Rehabilitation Program Design <br />and the Housing Rehab Board Members for the Southside CDBG <br />Housing Rehabilitation Project. (See Enclosure #9-a and #9-b) <br /> <br />COMMENTS: We recommend that Council authorize the City <br />Manager to execute the Housing Rehabilitation Program Design <br /> <br /> <br />
